Ferrari buyer picks up his new LaFerrari in style

This, right here, is how you pick up your new ride in fine style.

Noted Ferrari fanatic and British property magnate Jon Hunt felt it was only fitting to accept delivery of his new $1.8-million LaFerrari hybrid-hypercar by driving down his collection of classic Ferraris from London to Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello, Italy.

The multimillionaire Prancing Horse collector set off on the 14-hour, 1,400-km road trip with the help of his two children and some friends, who got to drive in Hunt’s red 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo – basically all the major exclusives in Ferrari’s recent history.

“Ferraris are the ultimate sports cars as far as I’m concerned,” Hunt told “I love driving them all, each one is different. I’ve clocked up over 16,000 km in the Enzo alone, for example.”

Standing next to his sparkling new 950-horsepower LaFerrari, Hunt said he had driven it only for about five minutes, but that was enough to get a sense of the “spectacular-looking” car. “From the five minutes I’ve driven it, it drives really easily,” he said.

While it’s hard not to envy Hunt’s now-burgeoning collection, it’s at least refreshing to see a supercar buyer who isn’t afraid to actually drive his cars!
