Nissan to offer “traffic jam pilot” by end of 2016

Traffic jams will never be fun but driving in them is about to get a lot easier thanks to Nissan’s upcoming “traffic jam pilot.” According to Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosn, “we are bringing to market a traffic-jam pilot, a technology enabling cars to drive autonomously–and safely–on congested highways.” Nissan plans to have the system on the market by the end of 2016.

Nissan is also planning on developing a fully automated parking system to launch in the same timeframe. Further into the future, Nissan hopes to make a comprehensive autonomous driving system by 2020.
