Outrageous ’69 Camaro to make world debut at Hard Rock

It’s only fitting that the ultimate Camaro will be one of the shining stars at the first Ultimate Car Show.

The creation of 360 Fabrication Inc., the 1800-horsepower muscle car will join other collector classics built in the Abbotsford shop for the Saturday, Aug. 16 show at the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam. Fabrication and Hard Rock are the sponsors of the show, which is free to the public and just $20 for car owners to enter.

“The Ultimate Car Show is a natural pairing of rock ‘n’ roll and the best exotic, classic and muscle cars in Western Canada,” said Hard Rock executive director Raj Mutti. “The event will be action packed as we have added live bands to our outdoor stage and paired it with great summer food features, prize giveaways and much more.”

In addition to the crazy Camaro, which is owned by a Metro Vancouver car collector, another never-before-seen-in-public car scheduled to be at the show is a 1965 Malibu SS convertible, also built by the Abby shop and appraised at more than half-a-million dollars.

360 Fabrication owner Rick Francoeur is no stranger to turning muscle cars into ultimate machines — showgoers at the recent Vancouver Car Collector Show & Auction at the PNE were treated to a wild Mustang his shop created — but he admits this Camaro is the most over-the-top job they’ve done to date.

“It took us about a year to put the car together,” Francoeur says. “There is lots of custom stuff on it. Absolute craziness.”

That’s an understatement. Here’s a brief laundry list of what the car, fittingly called ‘Insanity’ by its proud owner, features: Dart machined all-aluminum 632 cubic inch engine, 200 shot of Nitrous Oxide, BDS electronic fuel injection, Big Stuff 3 computer management system, Blower shop billet supercharger, Isis fibre optic wiring system, 14-inch Brembo brakes, custom billet front grill and rear bumper, custom all steel electronically actuated front end and custom stainless roll cage.

Show vehicles will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis and to register your vehicle call 360 Fabrication at 604-859-3608.
