Latest A7 Sportback gets cosmetic upgrades and new 60mpg front-wheel-drive ‘ultra’ option

The Audi A7 Sportback five-door coupé has been refreshed, with mild styling tweaks, reworked engines and new transmissions among the key changes.

The new addition to the range is the Audi A7 Sportback 3.0 TDI ultra. This front-wheel-drive variant features a 215bhp turbocharged diesel. It’s claimed to be capable of averaging 60.1mpg and emits 122g/km, which will result in a yearly road tax of £110.

Buyers can also opt from a choice of two other diesels and two petrols, all of which comply with EU6 emissions regulations.

In front‑wheel drive versions of the A7 Sportback a redeveloped seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox replaces the eight-speed ‘multitronic’ CVT. Some powertrain options in the range are now also combined with new lightweight brakes.

The key exterior cosmetic changes are the adoption of Audi’s new ‘Singleframe’ grille and resculpted front and rear bumpers. Audi has also tweaked the tailpipes, which now have wider, trapezoidal apertures.

The car also gets LED headlamps as standard in addition to the existing LED daytime running lights. Dynamic indicators with a sweeping function in the direction of the turn are also standard at the rear and optional for the front light units.

Inside, the refreshed A7 Sportback now features the latest generation of the Audi modular infotainment system, while some new upholstery and trim colour options are also on offer.
