Gallery: Mustang owners celebrate 50 years of the Pony Car

This year marks a very big year for Ford: on April 17, the Mustang will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Being one of Ford’s most iconic vehicles, the Mustang perfected the Pony Car and in the two years following its launch, more than one million examples were sold.

Calling the Mustang “successful” is a bit of an understatement, especially considering the following it has amassed in the last five decades. Young and old, Mustang owners are a diverse yet tightly-knit bunch brought together by a strong, almost unbreakable bond to their cars.

Gearing up for the Mustang’s 50th anniversary in a few days, hundreds of owners gathered at Ontario Place in Toronto this past weekend showcasing just how much things have changed over 50 years. We got up close and personal with many of the cars at the meet, so stop reading, start flipping through our massive collection of photos and when you’re done, tell us about your favourite Mustang.
