IndyCar: Paul Tracy may contest the 2014 Indianapolis 500

Canadian racer Paul Tracy may be joining old friends Jacques Villeneuve and Juan Pablo Montoya as he may try to qualify for the 2014 Indy 500.

Tracy hasn’t raced in the Indy 500 since 2011. That year, he finished 25th for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and it is the same team that might just be interested in putting Tracy back in the car for this year’s race.

Villeneuve, 42, has not raced in the Indy 500 since he won the race in 1995. Montoya, 38, made his last start in the race in 2000.

“I’ve had a couple of phone calls,” the 45-year-old Tracy said.

“I’ve talked to Dreyer and Reinbold. They’re trying to put something together, and I’m on their list. It’s not something that I’m completely chasing after, but if it happens, it happens. It’s not like I have my heart set on it. It’s interesting with Jacques coming back, and I hear Robby Gordon is trying to get in. There’s a bunch of guys who I raced against that are trying to do it.”
