Facelifted Mercedes-Benz M-class spotted ahead of year-end debut

Major style changes in line for upgraded Mercedes-Benz M-class, with new family front-end design and updated interior

A facelifted version of the Mercedes-Benz M-class has been spotted testing in the US, close to the firm’s plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

This late-stage prototype shows several major design changes to the current car, which was introduced in 2011. Based on Mercedes’ typical vehicle life cycle of eight years, a facelifted version is definitely due.

Among the changes expected on the updated model is a significant front-end redesign to bring the M-class in line with the current Mercedes family. A larger, more prominent front grille and new family headlight clusters, such as those seen on the new S-class and C-class models, are likely.
