Upcoming Jaguar XE sedan to recieve supercharged V6 engine

Jaguar’s entry into the sport sedan segment, the XE, will reportedly receive the F-Type’s 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine.

While no exact output figures have been detailed, the V6 produces anywhere between 340 and 360 horsepower in the F-Type. According to AutoGuide, the information was originally published on Jaguar’s official website, but has since been taken down.

The XE will ride on Jaguar’s first all-aluminum platform architecture, first seen on the C-X17 Concept. Previously, the British automaker said that the platform, known internally as the iQ[Al], can accommodate the V6. The XE sedan will also debut a new family of turbocharged four-cylinder engines.

Expect the Jaguar XE to debut later this year and go on sale in Europe, followed by North America in early 2016.
