Lexus, Acura, Audi score top marks from Consumer Reports

For the second year in a row, Lexus has topped Consumer Reports‘ annual Car Brand Report Cards list.

Leading the pack with 79 points, Lexus’ lineup earned praise for its “quiet, comfortable and fuel-efficient” lineup, according to the magazine. Lexus is joined by Acura, scoring 75 overall points thanks to its reliable and “somewhat sporty” models. This year, Audi ranked third with 74 points, boosted from last year’s eight-place finish thanks to its stellar interior quality and craftsmanship.

The Car Brand Report Cards list is based on data compiled from its own testing, reliability results and owner surveys. Subaru, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz make up the rest of Consumer Reports’ top automaker picks.

Rounding out the lowest scores on the list is Jeep, having marks docked for spotty reliability history, followed by Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet and Cadillac. Both Ford and Cadillac lost points over fussy infotainment systems.
