Jaguar XFR-S wagon headed to Geneva Motor Show

Even though we probably won’t see it in North America anytime soon, Jaguar has unveiled the XFR-S Sportbrake ahead of the Geneva Motor Show.

The latest and hottest addition to the XF lineup is a more family-friendly version of the uptuned XFR-S sedan. It is powered by a supercharged, 5.0-litre V8 engine pumping out 550 horsepower and 502 lb.-ft. of torque, with, as Jaguar points out, “the added benefit of 1,675 litres of rear load space when the rear seats are folded flat.”

Power is fed to the rear wheels via Jaguar’s “Quickshift” eight-speed automatic transmission, resulting in an impressive zero-to-100 km/h run in 4.8 seconds. In response to the added weight to the rear due to the cargo area, Jaguar has beefed up the XFR-S Sportbrake’s rear springs and dampers, in addition to including an active electronic differential and stability control programming borrowed from the sedan, all in an effort to retain the car’s handling characteristics.

On the outside, the XFR-S gains a set of forged, 20-inch alloy wheels, unique styling and exclusive colours, including the pictured Ultra Blue. If that’s a little too excessive, Jaguar also offers black, grey, white and Italian Racing Red. Inside, the XFR-S sports the requisite trim bits in a performance car, including carbon fibre trim and carbon leather, in addition to contrast stitching and piping.

The Geneva Motor Show kicks off next week on March 4.
