Thanks, Russia—First 2015 Ford Focus Photos Leak Ahead of Official Debut [2014 Geneva Auto Show]

2015 Ford Focus

Allow us to unceremoniously present Ford’s refreshed-for-2015 Focus, courtesy of several official-looking photos of the car that surfaced on, a Russian photo site. Per industry practice, the Focus is due for an update, given it has been on sale here in the U.S. since the 2012 model year, and elsewhere since before even then. Given the timing of these photos’ appearance, we bet the snazzy compact Ford will officially debut at the 2014 Geneva auto show.

We must say, ceremonious or otherwise, these photos show one good-lookin’ Focus. While it’s clear that the car has merely been refreshed and not totally redesigned, Ford’s changes have produced an almost entirely new-looking ride. Up front, the brand’s now-signature Aston Martin–style grille has been applied to good effect, and thin, Fusion-like headlights squint forward with more purpose than the current Focus’s peepers. We especially dig the powerful hood strakes and lower fascia elements, which ape the Fusion’s, as well. Out back, the taillights are thinner and more elegant, and make the tail look lower and wider.

Comparison Test: 2013 Ford Focus ST vs. 2015 Volkswagen GTI
Instrumented Test: 2014 Ford Fiesta ST

These photos show only the five-door hatchback (there also were images showing the updated Euro-only wagon—hotness!), we expect these changes to apply to the sedan model, too. We’ll bring you full details on the 2015 Focus when they become available, but in the meantime, feast your eyes on its hot bod.
