Nissan GT-R Nismo leaked ahead of Tokyo debut

We weren’t supposed to see Nissan‘s latest rendition of Godzilla until Wednesday, but as with any highly-anticipated reveal ahead of a major auto show, we now have our first taste of the Nissan GT-R Nismo.

Although official specifications from Nissan haven’t been released just yet, the GT-R Nismo reportedly benefits from a number of tweaks to its twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 engine. Larger turbochargers, tweaked timing and a revised intake and exhaust manage to eke out 595 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft. of torque, increases of 50 and 27, respectively.

Because Nissan is on a plight to improve its Nurburgring lap time with each new rendition of the GT-R, the Nismo is rumored to lap the ‘Ring in seven minutes and 8.69 seconds with the Track Pack. That particular package pushes the performance envelope further with additions such as stickier tires, various aerodynamic bits and pieces and a manually-adjustable suspension.

We’ll bring you the latest on the Nissan GT-R Nismo, as well as every other highly-anticipated debut, when the Tokyo Motor Show opens its doors in two days.
