Christmas Catalogued: Aston Martin Vanquish Volante Nieman Marcus Edition

Vanquish Volante Neiman Marcus Edition

If you had your heart set on buying one of the first 10 Aston Martin Vanquish Volantes sold in the U.S., call 1-888-756-0775. That’s the number for Nieman Marcus, the Dallas-based retailer famed for its yuletide selection of big-buck specialties. This year it is featuring the carbon-fiber-wrapped Aston convertible, which will be displayed at the Los Angeles auto show.

Aston starts with the 565-hp V-12 ragtop and submits it to “Q,” the automaker’s, “ultimate personalisation design service.” (Yes, that’s Q as in James Bond, but neither Aston nor Nieman Marcus can say that at the moment.) On goes Seychelles Blue paint to match that on HRH Prince of Wales’s 1969 DB6 Volante. The top is fashioned of Atlantic Blue fabric. Jewelry abounds. Bright finish adorns the side strakes, tailpipes, and front grille. Badging is done in sterling silver and faux enamel. Liquid Silver is the color on the 20-spoke wheels.

A dark theme prevails inside. Obsidian Black leather sewn into an hourglass quilting pattern is on the seats and door panels. The same black hue is on the seat inserts, carpeting, the steering wheel, gearshift paddles . . . you get the idea. Nicely contrasting all of this inkiness is walnut veneer on the center stack. In the trunk is a four-piece set of custom luggage.

Check out the Nieman Marcus ad for the Aston titled “License to Thrill,” and then figure out where you’ll find the $344,500 plus delivery to pay for your Nieman Marcus Vanquish Volante.
