Truck Guy: Aftermarket innovations in SEMA limelight

LAS VEGAS – When it comes to the automotive Aftermarket, this is the biggest show on the planet.

The 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association show (SEMA) in Las Vegas ran from Nov. 5 to Nov. 9
and anything and everything automotive was featured at the show, the largest trade show in North America.

The first show was back in 1967 and while there was a large crowd then, it fails to compare to the amount of people attending this year’s show.

Here are some of the highlights out of thousands of new items introduced at the show.

Rigid Industries brought a list of new items, including a satin black replacement grill for the Ford Raptor incorporating a LED light bar.

They’re also available for Chevy, GMC and Ram. They also introduced a new LED bar that is curved and comes with mounting brackets to fit above your windshield.

Skyjacker, which has a long history in aftermarket suspension, has a six- to seven-inch suspension lift out for the new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and a six-inch suspension lift for the 2014 Toyota Tundra.

McGaughy’s Suspension showed off an eight-inch suspension lift for the 2014 Ram 2500/3500 model.

Drive-Aide has a high resolution 4.3-inch LCD display rear-view mirror backup camera with auto brightness adjustment built right in. Check it out at
