New BMW M235i Launch Control Explained

The hottest of the current crop of 2-Series variants, the M235i, theoreticaly offers one of the purest driving experiences in BMW’s range, because of its light(er) weight and smaller size compared to other models. It also comes with all the performance-enhancing gadgets and systems that you can get on its bigger brothers, including launch control.

Unlike some other manufacturers’ systems that have you pressing more than one button and keeping it pressed for X number of seconds, in the BMW, you turn off the DTC (traction control) with one button press, place your foot on the brake, then on the throttle and finally off the brake for a perfect launch.

All you have to avoid doing is turning the steering wheel before setting off, because the launch is aborted if you do so. See how it works in the video below.
