Pickup: 2014 Nissan Frontier

Mid-sized pickup gains added features; excellent towing capacity, available four-door crew-cap, Pro-4x excels off-road

Remember the small pickup truck? Nissan still does, as its basic four-cylinder entry-level Frontier comes with everything from Bluetooth to audio controls mounted on the steering wheel, a reasonably efficient four-cylinder engine, and a sturdy towing capacity right off the rear bumper. It’s a great fit for a weekend warrior, and then there’s all the goodies you get when you start moving up to the V6 models, with available navigation, smartphone integration and new heated cloth seats. Upgrades for 2014 also include small touches like a manual sliding rear glass now in crew-cab models as well as two-door trucks.
