Aston Martin Vantage GT3 road car considered

Aston Martin Vantage GT3 road car planned

More extreme V12 Vantage S, with a focus on weight saving and downforce, evaluated by Aston Martin

Aston Martin has plans to make a more extreme GT3 version of the V12 Vantage S.

Outgoing CEO Dr Ulrich Bez said: “If I was still in charge of the company, this is a car we would do. Maybe they still will.” Bez will continue as Aston Martin chairman, albeit in a non-executive capacity, so his influence is likely to continue for a while yet.

Aston Martin envisages a focus on reducing weight before increasing power, according to engineering boss Ian Minards said. “It would be relatively easy to lose 100kg from the current car,” he said. “That much could be saved by removing the air conditioning, simplifying the interior and fitting lightweight seats.”
