Coupe: 2014 Audi A5

Slick two-door coupe and cabriolet get added power in their base 2.0L guise. Heart-stopping RS models now available with fixed or folding roof.

Carrying on from last year’s cosmetic refresh, Audi’s burly two-door models gain a little added punch right from the get-go. As with the A4 line, 2.0L turbocharged models are now up to 220 hp, dropping acceleration times and nosing ahead of the pack. For those who want a little more zip, the excellent supercharged V6 continues to provide a compelling blend of V8-pipping horsepower while still returning acceptable fuel economy ratings. High flyers unconcerned about the cost of premium have access to the jewel of the Audi range, the RS5 coupe and cabriolet, which are second only to the supercar R8 in terms of power and sound. Performance enthusiasts may wish to spec the coupe version for maximum chassis stiffness, but they’ll be missing out on that glorious Audi V8 soundtrack.
