Dodge reveals new ‘Scat Pack’ performance upgrades at SEMA

Dodge and Mopar have taken to this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas to announce a handful of new performance upgrades for the Challenger, Charger and Dart.

Known as the Scat Package, the upgrades will be available in incremental packages catering to multiple performance needs. Scat Package 1 brings a retuned ECU, a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust system to Chargers and Challengers equipped with the Hemi V8, while the six-speed manual 2.4-litre Dart GT nets bigger brakes, a short-throw shifter and a cold-air intake.

The Scat Package 2 adds new camshafts and Scat Package 3 means ported and polished heads, and new headers for the Charger and Challenger. Unique to the Charger will be nifty side-exit exhausts, while the Challenger gets a handful of suspension tweaks, including anti-sway bars and adjustable coilovers. The Dart GT’s Scat Package 2 includes a cat-back exhaust system and a retuned ECU, while Scat Package 3 gives the GT even larger brakes.

Unfortunate name aside, the Scat Package brings a number of cosmetic changes, including new wheels, aero kits, unique interior touches and, of course, appropriate ‘Scat Package’ badges. Expect these goodies to be released in spring 2014.
