On September 28th, 2008, SpaceX (founded by Tesla CEO Elon Musk) managed to put a satellite into orbit using the Falcon 1 launch vehicle.
It was the fourth try for SpaceX after three failed attempts — March 2006, March 2007, and August 2008.
Man, that Musk guy can do just about anything!
